1.- Plan ahead: Cancun and Riviera Maya are popular tourist destinations, so it’s important to plan your trip well in advance. Consider factors such as the best time to visit, where to stay, and what activities to do. Most hotels would offer better rates when you book in advance. Especially in the following dates : Mid-January and before the spring break and Mid-August to the first days of December. Additionally the weather in these periods is much more benevolent : mid-70s to the low 90s Fahrenheit (around 24-33 degrees Celsius) during the day and mid-60s to mid-70s Fahrenheit (around 18-24 degrees Celsius) at night. The humidity is also typically lower.
Hotels, Restaurants, Attractions and parks have much less visitors therefore making them more enjoyable!

2.- Use sunscreen: The sun in Cancun and Riviera Maya can be intense, so it’s important to use sunscreen with a high SPF and reapply it regularly.
3.- Stay hydrated: The heat and humidity in Cancun and Riviera Maya can be intense, so it’s important to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
4.- Try local cuisine: Mexican cuisine is famous around the world, and Cancun and Riviera Maya offer plenty of opportunities to try it. Be adventurous and try new dishes, but also be cautious and only eat at reputable restaurants. Regarding spicy dishes remember that for Mexicans “Not really hot” could be very hot or spicy, if you are not used or familiar to these type of dishes.
5.- Visit Chichen Itza: Chichen Itza is one of the most famous Mayan ruins in Mexico and is a must-visit destination in Cancun and Riviera Maya. Depending on where you are staying, traveling time to the archaeological site is an average of two to two and a half hours. Unlike most of the Mexican roads there are not small towns to stop by when you take the fast ( Toll Road ) so it is much better to go on a tour; shared basis or private. 6.- Take a dip in a cenote: Cenotes are natural swimming holes that are unique to the Yucatan Peninsula. There are many cenotes to choose from in Cancun and Riviera Maya, and taking a dip in one is a refreshing way to beat the heat.
